01.03.2018 - Press release

From 11-13 June 2018, the 11th Global Media Forum will take place in Bonn. The English-speaking conference exploring current trends in the media is organised by Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle and co-funded by the German Foreign Office.

With last year’s conference attracting almost 2000 visitors from 120 different countries, the organisers hope to continue the unprecedented success with this year’s topic: “Global Inequalities”.

Media representatives from all over the world, including many partner broadcasters of DW, will engage in discussions with leading actors from politics, business, culture, science and development assistance addressing inequalities in the media sector and the media’s ability to tackle them.

Panels on foreign policy, media, culture and economy will centre around questions such as the monopolisation of the media, threats and opportunities of increasing isolationism to international power relations and how much inequality a society has to tolerate in order to develop sustainably.
