The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in London is seeking a full-time Mailroom Assistant to start on 1 July 2024

This role includes:

  • Handling incoming and outgoing post

  • Printing jobs

  • Managing office supplies

  • Goods in and goods out

  • Distributing post within the Embassy

  • Collecting courier and postage payments

  • If necessary working as Switchboard Operator

  • Other duties by agreement with line manager

Profile:

  • Entitled to live and work in the UK (proof required)Enthusiastic and able to work under pressure
  • Good German and English

  • Enthusiastic and able to work under pressure

  • Good team player

  • Good physical health, must be able to lift moderately heavy items

Training will be provided. Contract based on UK employment law. Normal working time is 40 hours a week. Salary is based on the Embassy’s pay scheme. Starting salary is £2.865/month. Salary will be taxable in Germany unless you are a British citizen and do not also hold German citizenship. National Insurance contributions are to be paid in the UK. If you are successful in the selection process, a security background check, for which your cooperation is required, will be conducted prior to hiring.
