The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in London is seeking a full-time Post Room Assistant to start on 1 July 2022.

This role includes:

  • Handling incoming and outgoing post
  • Printing jobs
  • Managing office supplies
  • Goods in and goods out
  • Distributing post within the Embassy
  • Collecting courier and postage payments
  • Other duties by agreement with line manager

Profile:

  • Good German and English
  • Enthusiastic and able to work under pressure

  • Good team player

  • Good physical health, must be able to lift moderately heavy items

  • Entitled to live and work in the UK (proof required)

Training will be provided. Please note that this is initially a one-year fixed-term employment contract. It may be extended but this cannot be guaranteed at this point. Contract based on UK employment law. Normal working time is 40 hours a week. Salary is based on the Embassy’s pay scheme and is £2,486/month. Salary will be taxable in Germany unless you are a British citizen and do not also hold German citizenship. National Insurance contributions are to be paid in the UK. If you are successful in the selection process, a security background check, for which your cooperation is required, will be conducted prior to hiring.

Please note that working from home will not be possible. The post room team works on-site in a shared office. In the interest of protecting the health of all staff, the Embassy firmly advocates the vaccination of all staff members against Covid-19.
