Appointment at the Embassy in London

Passport appointments can only be booked online through the Federal Foreign Office website. To book an appointment, please follow the link:

BOOK AN APPOINTMENT

Please note that the appointments shown online are the only and earliest appointments available. Unfortunately, because of the exceptionally high demand at present, it is possible that the next available appointments are only in two to three months’ time.

When booking an appointment, please make allowance for the waiting time, as it is not possible at present, due to high demand, to offer appointments at short notice. We would therefore ask you to book an appointment online in good time, ideally six months before your passport expires. Please note that you have to book an appointment for each application, i.e. a separate appointment is required for each applicant. You should therefore make allowance for the waiting time.

Emergency appointments can only be issued in individual cases in an extreme emergency (death or illness in the family). In each case, you will need to produce evidence (death certificate, doctor’s certificate or the like), which may be verified.

In that case, please send us an email: Email the Embassy

We make every effort to answer enquiries promptly. However, given the high volume of enquiries, it may take some time for us to get back to you.

Appointment at the Consulate General in Edinburgh

Please note that you always need an appointment to apply for a German passport.

Appointments can only be booked online with the German Foreign Office. To make an appointment online please visit their website:

BOOK AN APPOINTMENT

Please note that the appointments offered on this system are the earliest and the only appointments available. Due to a high demand there can be a waiting period for appointments of several months.

Therefore we are unable to offer you a short term appointment. We ask you to make an appointment as early as possible, preferably 6 months before your passport expires.

Only in extreme emergencies (death or illness of a family member) we can offer individual emergency appointments. In every individual case proof of the emergency (death certificate, medical certificate or similar) which can be verified, must be sent in advance.
