Introduction of appointment waiting lists in some C-visa categories as of 01.06.2026

As demand for Schengen visa appointments currently exceeds the visa section’s capacity, and in order to protect visa applicants from fraudulent and expensive appointment booking agencies, the Embassy will establish a waiting list through its external service provider TLS Contact in London and Manchester from 01.06.2026 onwards so as to ensure fair and equal access to appointments for everyone.

Appointments will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. In your own interest, please register in a timely manner as soon as your purpose of travel and approximate travel dates are known. You may apply for a visa up to 6 months before your planned trip. For information on the required supporting documents, please visit the Embassy’s website.

Waiting lists for appointments with our Service Provider will be in place for the following application categories:

  • Tourism
  • Visit
  • Business Trips
  • Medical Treatment

Please note that waiting times on the respective waiting lists can differ according to the number of applicants registered on the waiting lists for these categories. Please be aware that we cannot communicate exact waiting times and will not answer emails about this.

Waiting list registrations and appointment booking for Schengen visa applications can only be done online via the website of our external service provider, TLS Contact. Once an appointment has been allocated, you have to pay the service fee within 24 hours. If you do not pay the fee within 24 hours, your appointment reservation will expire.

Please note that the legal processing time frame only starts after filing the application, once biometrics have been provided and the visa fee has been paid. The Embassy additionally might have queries regarding your application and ask you directly for further information and/or documents during the application process.

Please explicitly note that it is NOT necessary to engage an agency to process your visa application or to file documents. The only fees to be paid during the application process are the service fee for our Service Provider TLS Contact and the visa fee.

Please also note that discrepancies between the registration details and the actual details shown on passports or other documents will lead to you losing your appointment. If your allocated appointment is lost because of this, you will have to register again from the beginning for a place on the waiting list.
