The German Missions in the UK operate from both London and Edinburgh with two distinct jurisdictions and your place of residence determines which German Mission or Visa Application Centre you will need to contact to apply for a visa.

The German Missions in the UK operate from both London and Edinburgh with two distinct jurisdictions and your place of residence determines which German Mission or Visa Application Centre you will need to contact to apply for a visa.

The German Embassy in London and the visa application centres in London and Manchester, operated by our service provider, TLScontact, serve visa applicants residing in England (with exceptions, see below), Northern Ireland and Wales.

The German Consulate General in Edinburgh and the visa application centre in Edinburgh, operated by our service provider, TLScontact, serve visa applicants residing in Scotland as well as in the (English) counties of Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland, North Yorkshire or Tyne and Wear. Residents of York and Selby need to apply in with the mission in London or TLScontact in London or Manchester.

Certain categories of visas must be applied for in Visa Application Centres run by our external service provider, TLScontact. TLScontact currently operates three Visa Application Centres in the UK: in London, Manchester and Edinburgh respectively.
