Welcome
Change of consular districts
From 1 February 2025, the consular districts of the Embassy in London and the Consulate General in Edinburgh will change as follows:
The Consulate General in Edinburgh will only serve individuals residing in Scotland. The Embassy in London will serve individuals residing in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the British Channel Islands, Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands (Malvinas).
Persons living in the counties of Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland, North Yorkshire and Tyne and Wear can continue to contact the German Honorary Consul in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for passport matters and certifications.
For other consular services, persons from these counties should contact the Embassy in London, as the Embassy will be the responsible mission starting from 1 February 2025.
From 1 February 2025, applicants from the counties of Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland, North Yorkshire and Tyne and Wear have to submit their visa applications to the German Embassy in London or our visa application centres in Manchester and London. Only applicants residing in Scotland will be able to have their visa applications processed in Edinburgh.
